Grayslake Area Public Library holds indoor mini-golf event

The Grayslake Area Public Library held its second annual mini-golf fundraising event on Saturday.

Participants in the Grayslake Library Foundation-sponsored event played in a family-friendly event in the afternoon, featuring free ice cream for children at the 19th hole. An adults-only competition was held in the evening, and both floors of the library were used for the course.

The event is to raise money for items beyond the operating budget. Youth Services Computer room applications, iPads and e-book readers were purchased through previous events. This year's purchases have yet to be determined.

"Traditionally, libraries and golf courses are quiet places, however at this event, good-hearted competition, including clapping, cheering and even fist-pumping is welcome," library director Roberta Thomas said in a news release.
