Bears sign DE Scott

The Bears signed free-agent defensive end Trevor Scott to a one-year contract Thursday.

The 6-5, 260-pound, six-year veteran has played in 76 games with 18 starts with the Raiders (2008-11), Patriots (2012) and Buccaneers (2013). He has 94 career tackles, including 16½ sacks and 21 tackles for losses, in addition to 20 special-teams tackles.

In his best season (2009), Scott had 37 tackles, 7 sacks, 11 tackles for losses, 12 quarterback hits and 6 special-teams stops in 16 games, including six starts. Scott entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick of the Raiders out of the University of Buffalo.
