Dining events: Charhouse joins St. Charles scene

St. Charles charhouse

The North Avenue Charhouse Restaurant opened its doors in St. Charles. Recent specials include an 8-ounce NY strip steak with lobster tail for $29.95 and shrimp scampi for $24.95 served with a choice of potato and soup or salad. On Mondays and Tuesdays, grab a burger and fries for $5. The eatery is open 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

New burgers in Carol Stream

A burger revolution started in Carol Stream this week with the opening of Rev Burger, a healthier fast food alternative owned by Wendy and William Spatz. Rev Burger offers hormone-, antibiotic- and filler-free meats. Burgers are made with Angus beef and french fries, and chicken tenders are baked, not fried.

Schaumburg gets Italian

Chicago Prime Italian recently opened in the former Rosebud location in Schaumburg. Serving lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers the flavors of classic Italian fare and rare wines, as well as steak, chops, veal and fresh seafood. Entrees range from $15 to $25.
