The last of three sectional spelling bees for Lake County students will be Thursday, March 6, in the Wauconda High School auditorium, 555 N. Main St., Wauconda. Participants will arrive by 6:15 p.m. Students will not be allowed to be seated as contestants once the practice round begins. Four finalists from each sectional will compete in the Lake County Final Spelling Bee at College of Lake County on Thursday, March 20. One final winner will win a trip to Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. to compete May 25 through May 31. All expenses for the seven-day trip will be paid cooperatively by Lake County Regional Office of Education at the Jelly Belly Candy Company.
