Elgin high to host resource fair March 1 for special needs parents

The Citizens' Advisory Council and the U-46 Special Education Department are offering a free Special Needs Parent Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Elgin High School, 1200 Maroon Drive. The event is an opportunity for families to learn about the services and programs that local, regional, and state agencies provide for our special needs community. The event is open to the public and for all those with an interest in special needs services.

Programming will include presentations hosted by local service providers and by U-46. Advanced Behavioral Solutions, By Your Side and Kaitlin's Hideout will lead a keynote presentation titled "Thriving at Home: Homework, Behavior & Schedules" at 10 a.m. Bartlett Little League's Challenger Division and area Special Recreation Associations will present "Special Recreation for Your Child" at 11:20 a.m. Two district/clinician panel discussions focusing on O/T and Sensory Strategies, and Speed Therapy Services will be held at 9:05 a.m. and 12:10 p.m., respectively.
