Lombard hosting open house to get input on comprehensive plan

Lombard residents are invited to an open house Monday, Feb. 17, to review the village's comprehensive plan, which is being updated for the first time since 1998.

The open house will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave. Copies of the plan will be available and residents are welcome to walk in at any time to meet with village staff and ask questions.

The plan is a long-range policy document that provides the village with direction for the next 10 to 15 years for items such as land use, transportation, annexation and economic development.

Staff started working on the 2014 comprehensive plan three years ago. It was put on hold to study areas of the community that are within the village's planning boundaries.

The update includes a strategic plan for the Westmore-Meyers Corridor.
