Advocate Physician Partners names senior medical director

Pankaj Patel, MD, MSc, has been named Senior Medical Director of Quality Improvement and Clinical Integration by Advocate Physician Partners (APP).

In this new role, Dr. Patel will provide medical leadership and oversight for APP's nationally recognized Clinical Integration Program and quality initiatives.

A practicing internal medicine physician for the past 27 years, Dr. Patel is currently with Advocate Medical Group (AMG) Oak Park. Prior to this new role, he served as Medical Director for Quality Improvement (QI) at both APP and AMG, and is Chair of the QI and Clinical Integration Committee.

"We are excited that Dr. Patel will be taking on this key leadership role at APP," said Mike Englehart, president of APP, which has 4,500 member physicians throughout northern and central Illinois. "Clinical Integration remains core to APP operations, and Dr. Patel's proven leadership in this area will help us continue to improve quality."

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from Manipal University in India prior to his residency at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago where he served as Chief Resident. He received his master's degree in community medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

He resides in Oak Brook with his wife
