SRACLC members perform 'Annie'

Submitted by the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County

The Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County provides various programs for people with disabilities of all ages. Among those programs are Behind the Scenes and Showstoppers.

Participants enrolled in Showstoppers are the actors and actresses who perform a musical live on stage. Participants in Behind the Scenes create backdrops, props and decorations used for the musical.

On Dec. 9, participants performed "Annie" at the Sullivan Center in Vernon Hills.

"Our participants in this program have worked hard for 13 long weeks, and were so excited to show off their hard work and passion," director Katelin Sheppard said.

The Showstoppers and Behind the Scenes crew are already gearing up to start practice for SRACLC's next production, "Tarzan."

In addition, SRACLC also has many other programs available for individuals with disabilities ages 3 and older. SRACLC offers camps, special events, Special Olympics training, weekly programs and more.

For details or to register for programs, call (847)-816-4866 or visit www.sraclc.org.
