Hoffman Park Dist. offers free Taste of Preschool

Preschool children and their parents are invited to “try out” the preschool at the Hoffman Estates Park District for free Monday, Feb. 17, at the “Taste of Preschool.”

Two events will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Triphahn Center, 1685 W. Higgins Road, and at the Willow Recreation Center, 3600 Lexington Drive.

HEPD preschool staff will offer a mini-preschool class with a short group activity, time of center exploration and an art activity. Parents will meet teachers and have a chance to ask questions and register.

The class is free, but preregistration is required at heparks.org or at one of the two facilities.

HEPD is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators, who have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study and improvement. Only eight percent of preschools in Illinois are accredited. The preschool also offers parents a mobile app to keep up to date with their child’s class.
