Praise teachers for enduring heat

Sept. 5 was back to school night at Thompson Middle School. Parents were to follow there child's class schedule. Each class lasted nine minutes.

The teachers and staff at Thompson deserve a medal. Mind you this was in the evening, however some classrooms were extremely hot. Yet these teachers work with this everyday and the students have to deal with the temperature in there classroom being stifling, yet trying to do there class work.

Can you imagine what it must be like during the day when the sun is out? I don't know how they do it. Keeping the children focused on there studies and let's not forget, when the kids have to do the state/district testing.

I would love to see the superintendent of schools spend a day at Thompson Middle School and go through a normal class schedule, sitting in each classroom for 52 minutes.

So easy for others to say. When I was that age, we had no air conditioning. Maybe because there was none. Something has to be done to fix these awful unhealthy conditions for the staff and kids.
