Watch Buffalo Grove Expressions’ next competition performance

Buffalo Grove High School’s award-winning Expressions Show Choir invites all music lovers to attend its next competition preview performance at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the school’s Miller Theater, 1100 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove.

The group will travel to Waconia, Minn., to compete at the Star Power Lake Waconia Show Choir Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Expressions competed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at Premiere — The Prairie Show Choir Invitational, garnering several awards, including 1st Runner-Up, Best Choreography, Best Band, Best Costumes, and Best Show Design. Individually, senior Brian McCallister won Best Male Soloist in a Competition Show.

The Expressions is a mixed show choir, comprised of 40 singer-dancers, 14 band members and four crew members, directed by Debora Utley and choreographed by Randy Sage. Bryan Itzkowitz serves as the band director.

At the door, a $3 donation for adults and $1 for students is appreciated.
