Nardini (30 points) paces Vernon Hills victory

Robby Nardini poured in a career-high 30 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Vernon Hills’ boys basketball team used a big second half to defeat Chicagoland Jewish 76-60 Thursday night.

Sam Rattner added 15 points for Vernon Hills (12-9), while Lem Turner had 14 points and 5 blocked shots in his first game since missing five in a row with an injury.

Vernon Hills trailed 24-18 after one quarter and 36-32 at halftime, but the Cougars outscored the hosts 20-10 in the third and 24-15 in the fourth.

Matt Weaver chipped in 8 points for Vernon Hills.
