Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 board members on Feb. 3 approved the hiring of Joseph O'Brien as the Vernon Hills High School assistant principal for curriculum and instruction. O'Brien will fill the position held by Jon Guillaume when Guillaume becomes VHHS principal on July 1. O'Brien joined District 128 in 2000. He taught social studies at VHHS for nine years before moving into his current position as Libertyville High School social studies department supervisor. Before joining District 128, O'Brien taught for two years at Macomb High School. "While I will miss LHS, I am excited to return to VHHS where I have a great connections to the school and the community that I look forward to renewing in my new role," O'Brien said.
