Fire damages Aurora apartments

An Aurora apartment fire Monday night displaced the residents of two units.

The Aurora Fire Department responded at 6 p.m. to the blaze in a 20-unit building on the 200 block of North Oakhurst Drive.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire on the first and second floors. They were able to keep the blaze contained to the original two units on fire, Aurora fire officials said.

Nobody was injured, and smoke detectors and sprinkler systems were operational.

Damage to the building was estimated at $225,000 in addition to $70,000 in damaged contents, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Aurora Fire Department Arson Team, officials said.
