The Mundelein Police Department hosts a free class for women 18 and over who are interested in learning self-defense tactics. Seventeen-year-olds with parental permission will also be allowed to attend. The class runs for a month on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Feb. 11 and ends March 4 at the Mundelein Police Department, 221 North Lake St. The first sessions cover the physical aspect of self-defense, as well as situational awareness. Students should wear loosefitting workout clothes. The class requires some physical activity. Space is limited to 30 participants. Call (847) 968-3770 to register.
