Snow drifting over rural roads in Northeastern Indiana

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. — Officials in northeastern Indiana are warning drivers again about snow drifts on rural roads.

Parts of the area received about an inch of new snowfall overnight, along with winds gusting to about 20 mph at times.

Whitley County officials urged caution on rural roads Friday morning as many are slick and some east-west roads have been drifted shut in the county just west of Fort Wayne.

Officials in Steuben County in the state’s northeastern corner put out a similar advisory.

Several counties across northern Indiana issued travel bans earlier in the week because of severe troubles with drifting snow. Those have since been lifted.
