Hoffman Estates Citizen Police Academy to start

The Hoffman Estates Police Department is accepting applications for its 25th annual Citizen Police Academy. A new class will be starting with an orientation from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the training room of the department at 411 W. Higgins Road. Classes will then meet for 14 weeks from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday evening until a graduation ceremony before the village board meeting on Monday, May 19. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside, work, or attend school in Hoffman Estates. Applicants living areas that do not offer a Citizen Police Academy may also be considered.
