• Christopher B. Nelson, 34, of the 200 block of West Arrowhead Street, North Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more, and no insurance after a head-on crash at about 12:13 a.m. Saturday at Route 25 and Banbury Road near Batavia, according to a sheriff's report. Nelson failed field sobriety tests and a breath test registered .196, the report said. The other motorist was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

• A Dyson vacuum, two cameras, a portable DVD player, tools and a cellphone, worth a combined $2,800, were stolen from two vehicles on the 35W300 block of Park Avenue near St. Charles between 2 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff's report.

• Jason L. Morris, 41, of the 6N300 block of Oakwood Drive, St. Charles, was charged with felony aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, and two counts of domestic battery at 6:59 p.m. Jan. 22 on the 6N300 block of Oakwood Drive, according to a sheriff's report. Morris is accused of pulling a woman's hair and choking her, the report said.
