Barrington wins budgeting awards

The people in charge of putting Barrington’s yearly budget together were presented with two awards this week recognizing the quality of their work.

It is the ninth year in a row, and 12th overall, that the village has received the Distinguished Budget Award, and the 28th straight year the village has received the certificate of excellence.

Mark Nannini presented the awards on the behalf of the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association during this week’s village board meeting.

“To earn these awards the village of Barrington had to substantially conform to the program’s demanding criteria,” Nannini said.

The director and assistant director of Barrington’s Community and Financial Services Department, Jason Hayden and Allison Chmelik, respectively, accepted the awards.
