Dist. 204 likely to remain in online learning consortium

Naperville Unit District 203 and Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 have agreed to go forward with the second phase of planning for an online learning consortium, and on Monday night, board members in Indian Prairie Unit District 204 could decide to jump in with them.

The consortium could include up to four West suburban school districts that would continue working with a Colorado-based consultant to offer 10 online courses beginning this fall in subjects such as U.S. history, consumer economics, government, geometry, algebra, English, Mandarin and computer coding.

District 204 board members indicated they would like to remain in the consortium and offer online classes during a previous discussion of the topic. A vote is scheduled during the board's regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora.

The board also is convening at 5 p.m. for a workshop about district finances.
