Due to the extreme cold weather, the DuPage County Forest Preserve's offices, educational centers and 60 forest preserves will be closed Tuesday.
A commission meeting and planning session scheduled for Tuesday morning also has been canceled.
District officials said the offices and educational centers will remain closed until 8 a.m. Wednesday. The forest preserves will reopen one hour after sunrise on Wednesday.
The district is suggesting winter enthusiasts heed the wind chill advisories and, if possible, stay indoors, officials said.
