Kirk Players to present ‘Spoon River Anthology’

Submitted by Kirk Players

Kirk Players will present “Spoon River Anthology,” Edgar Lee Master’s controversial compendium of epitaph poetry, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Loyola Cuneo Museum, 1350 N. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills.

The Anthology, published in 1915, but not locally circulated in Spoon River-area Illinois schools and libraries, contains dramatized monologues of folks who lived and worked over 100 years ago, their hopes, dreams, tragedies and joys.

The show will be performed by Kirk Player veterans Paddy Lynn and Jon Leslie Lynn. Musician Patty Eckert will provide accompaniment.
