Arlington Hts. house vs. car crash under investigation

Arlington Heights police are continuing to investigate why a car hit a house’s front porch Thursday night on the 300 block of North Douglas Street. The crash seriously injured the 24-year-old driver from Arlington Heights, who remains at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said. No charges have been filed. The woman was driving a Honda SUV when it left the roadway at 7:46 p.m. No one inside the house was injured, but the force of the crash trapped the woman inside and emergency workers had to extricate her from the vehicle, police said. She was conscious when emergency workers arrived. The house sustained significant damage to the porch as well as damage to the foundation.
