One injured in Buffalo Grove crash

One woman was injured when the car she was driving crashed into the back of a semi-truck Friday afternoon in Buffalo Grove.

Buffalo Grove firefighters said the unidentified woman had to be freed from the car but called the extrication simply “a door pop.” She was wearing a seat belt and the air bag deployed when she collided with the semi, firefighters said.

The woman was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Her condition is unknown.

Fire officials said the crash occurred near the intersection of Deerfield Parkway and Weiland Road shortly after 1 p.m.

The semi was headed north on Weiland Road when it was struck in the rear axel by the woman’s car, fire officials said. They were unsure which direction the woman was traveling when she collided with the semi.
