Submitted by ESO

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra's Family Series continues with “The Magic of Rhythm” at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way in Elgin. This family concert, featuring an ESO ensemble of four musicians, explores how music uses rhythm to create magic in our lives. Combining melody, rhythm, and magical illusions the stage will come alive — all for the price of a movie!

This four-person ensemble will be comprised of percussionists Joel Cohen and Christopher Folker, ESO violinist Daniela Folker, and ESO percussionist Michael Folker. Folker will also be performing the showstopping illusions your whole family is sure to enjoy!

Kid-friendly activities will begin at 2 p.m. and will include an instrument petting zoo, crafts, and other musical delights, with the performance to follow at 3:30 p.m. Tickets for this concert are only $5 (plus tax) each and can be purchased through the ESO Box Office (847) 888-4000 or by visiting www.elginsymphony.org.
