Geneva Dance Team Wins Upstate 8 Conference

The Geneva High School Varsity Dance Team won the Upstate 8 Conference at Matea Valley High School on January 18. All schools besides East Aurora competed at Conference and 10 of the teams (Geneva included) did 2 dance routines. There was no differentiation between divisions, so all of JV competed against one another and all of Varsity competed against one another. Judges picked the highest scoring dance from each school to rank them and Geneva came in first with Neuqua Valley placing second and St. Charles North coming in third.

Coach Amy VanWagenen said of the team, "I could not be prouder of the Geneva Varsity Dance Team becoming the Upstate 8 Conference Champions. Our goal was to place in the top 3 at conference and they worked so hard to accomplish that. Their work paid off, as they came in first place. This is such an honor for the Geneva Dance Team and as their coach I couldn't be happier."
