Enrollment Open for Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy
If you would enjoy learning more about the operations of the Arlington Heights Police Department, sign up for the Citizens Police Academy which begins March 11.
The class is offered exclusively to residents and business leaders from the village and is held on Tuesday nights from 7-10 p.m. for 11 consecutive weeks. Enrolling in the program gives participants hands-on experiences and insights into the nature of police services in the village. The program includes classroom training, open discussions, multi-media presentations, demonstrations, practical exercises, and hands-on firearms familiarization on the Police Department firing range. Classroom outings include a tour of the Department's 911 Center and the 3rd Circuit Court District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
Upon completion, it is the hope of the police department that academy graduates will possess a better understanding of police services, assist the department in community relations, and support police sponsored activities and programs in Arlington Heights.
The Arlington Heights Citizen Police Academy is offered annually in spring and fall sessions. The academy is limited to 25 students per class session and is offered free of cost.
