Night life events: Hofbrauhaus fetes turning 1

Hofbrauhaus turns 1

Celebrate the first anniversary of Hofbrauhaus starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24. The night includes a traditional keg tapping at 7 p.m., authentic food, live music by an Oompah band hailing all the way from the Alps, Hofbrauhaus beer brewed on-site and free stein-shaped bottle openers to the first 500 people.

House Pub's music

Hear the Beautiful Collision at House Pub starting at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in St. Charles. Brothers Adrian Michael Perez and Jason Cade Perez will play a percussive acoustic rock sound while patrons can sip on $4 select draft beers. No cover.

Cubby Bear North closes

The Cubby Bear North in Lincolnshire recently closed its doors at 21661 N. Milwaukee Ave. Opened in 1999, the 30,000-square-foot facility shuttered its doors, citing a “difficult economy for some time,” owner George Lukas told reporters. The original Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville remains open. cubbybear.com.
