Arlington Heights

• A male driver, in a moment of road rage, got out of his Volkswagen Jetta around 4:40 p.m. Jan. 15 on the 1600 block of West Euclid Avenue and shattered a driver's-side window on a 2002 Acura RSX with his fist. The victim tried to follow him but lost sight of his car. Damage was estimated at $500.

• Thieves stole prescription medication pills between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Jan. 19 out of a bottle in a purse belonging to a homeless woman in the PADS shelter at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road. The victim left her purse on a cot while eating breakfast.

• Thieves stole 30 large plastic inflatable Christmas decorations: eight snowmen, eight candles, two toy soldiers, six honey bears, and six angels between Jan. 15 and 19 from the front yard at a home on the 600 block of South Arlington Heights Road. Value was estimated at $200.

• A visitor to an apartment on the 2300 block of South Goebbert Road stole $700-$800 between 2 and 7 a.m. Jan. 17 out of the resident's wallet left in the kitchen.

• Vandals used black spray paint on an unknown date but reported Jan. 18 to write graffiti on a mausoleum in Memory Gardens cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Ave.

• Vandals knocked two mailboxes off their posts around 9 p.m. Jan. 18 on the 2300 and 2400 blocks of South Embers. Damage was estimated at $200.

• Vandals smashed the rear window between 11 a.m. and noon Jan. 19 on a 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck in an apartment lot on the 300 block of Happfield Drive.

• Burglars stole a men's blue mountain bike between Dec. 25 and Jan. 13 out of a garage on the 1500 block of North Beverly Lane. Value was estimated at $400.

• Burglars pried open a shed between 10 p.m. Jan. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 16 behind a garage at Wilke Automotive, 3 N. Wilke Road, and stole at least 12 cases of motor oil (each case contains 12 quart bottles) and an unknown amount of windshield washer fluid.

• Vandals shattered the rear window between Jan. 10 and 13 on a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van in a driveway at a home on the 1700 block of North Windsor.

• Vandals put two gouge marks on the rear driver's-side quarter panel of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala between Aug. 21 and Jan. 12 in a driveway on the 0-100 block of North Phelps Avenue. There have been several incidents of damage to the car over the last several months.

• Vandals shattered two 22-inch by 65-inch glass entry door windows between 6 p.m. Jan. 13 and 7 a.m. Jan. 14 at an apartment leasing office on the 1600 block of Woods Drive.

Buffalo Grove

• Jeffrey I. Curtis, 32, of the 3000 block of Rywick, Rolling Meadows, was arrested around 10:40 p.m. Jan. 14 during a traffic stop on Lake-Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended.

• Thieves stole a customer's wallet around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 15 in a store on the 100 block of Buffalo Grove Road.

• Thieves stole two bicycles around 5:15 p.m. Jan. 9 from a driveway on the 100 block of Roberta.

Wheeling

A man stole a patron's cellphone between 4:30 and 5:56 p.m. Jan. 16 plugged into a computer at the Indian Trails Library, 355 Schoenbeck Road. The thief asked the victim if the phone belonged to him. The victim was busy on the computer and didn't realize that the man was talking about his phone, so he said no. When the victim reached for his phone a few minutes later, it was gone.

Thieves stole a purse between 11:30 and 11:51 a.m. Jan. 17 out of a cart at Walmart, 1455 Lake-Cook Road.

Stephanie Garcia, 21, of the 1200 block of Lincoln, North Chicago, was arrested around 2:17 p.m. Jan. 17 at Target, 1400 Lake-Cook Road, and charged with retail theft. Her court date is Jan. 23.

Renters left a townhouse on the 500 block of Commanche Trail Jan. 8. The owner discovered damage to the front door, front window, closet doors, various walls and window treatments. Some window treatments were missing.

A man entered the cafeteria around 9:24 a.m. Jan. 19 in Fresh Farms, 20 S. Milwaukee Ave., grabbed a purse hanging on a customer's chair and ran to a vehicle in the parking lot. The victim followed him, reached through the driver's-side window, grabbed the steering wheel and demanded that he give back her purse, which he had placed on the front passenger's-side seat. He pushed her hands off the wheel and drove away.
