Downtown Palatine street to receive facelift

The Palatine village council voted earlier this week to hire Bollinger Lach and Associates, a civil engineering firm based in Itasca, to design improvements to Wilson Street between Bothwell and Brockway streets. The street, which is one block east of the Palatine Metra station, could receive improvements such as better lighting, new landscaping and repairs to or the removal of existing pavement and utilities as needed. Bollinger Lach and Associates, who completed similar design work for the village on Brockway and Bothwell streets, will receive $37,700 for their services.
