God’s answers can arrive in unexpected ways

“For your thoughts are not my thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.”

— Isaiah 55:8 NIV

God’s ways are unexpected and unexplainable at times.

When we are waiting for something in our lives, a healing, a mate, a job or a problem resolved, we start thinking how God should make this come about. But how God plans to make this delivery to us can be different.

He showed me this regarding a simple matter. Several years ago, I was expecting a new book I had ordered to arrive in the mail. I was excited to receive this book, so each day as I checked the mailbox I anticipated my book’s arrival.

Day after day, had passed. One particular day, after checking the mail box and finding my book had still not arrived I started feeling disappointed.

“I guess I’ll have to wait one more day,” I sighed to myself.

However, a few hours later, I noticed a big brown truck pull up to my house. A man ran to my door with a small package in his hand It was my book.

I didn’t expect it to arrive that way! After all, it was small enough to fit in my mailbox, so why should it be delivered any another way? When I had placed the order, and paid for postage, at that time the company had not informed me how the book would be shipped. I thought it would be delivered to my mailbox.

I believe what God showed me that day was whatever we are waiting for, it is not in our way, or our time of its expected arrival.

It is in his unexpected ways.
