Bradley pulls away from Southern Illinois, 66-60

PEORIA — Walt Lemon, Jr. got to the basket for a dunk and Omari Grier got to the line to make 3 of 4 free throws in the final minute as Bradley knocked off Southern Illinois for the third straight time, 66-60 Friday night.

It’s the first time Bradley has won three straight against the Salukis since a string that began in the 1999-2000 season and concluded in 2000-01.

Jalen Pendleton pulled the Salukis even at 54-54 with a pair of free throws with 3:51 to play, but Bradley went on a 9-2 run highlighted by an Auston Barnes’ 3-pointer and capped by a pair of Grier free throws that made it 63-56 with under a minute left.

Lemon scored 16 points to lead the Braves (7-12, 2-4 Missouri Valley), with Barnes and Mason Alwan each adding 12.

Desmar Jackson scored 17 and Anthony Beane added 15 for Southern Illinois (6-13, 2-4).
