Elgin claims UEC title

UEC position night: Elgin capped off its Upstate Eight Conference boys bowling championship season Thursday by finishing third at the UEC position night event. St. Charles East won the gathering. South Elgin placed second.

Elgin won the overall UEC title with a 41-2 record. The Maroons came into the meet undefeated in conference play.

Curtis Majka led the Maroons with a 757 series. He rolled a 290 first game with 11 strikes in a row. He also had games of 234 and 233.

Lowell Lynde IV finished with a 597 series. JJ Meyer bowled a 578 series, while Michael Bator rolled a 552 series. Vince Kelly rolled a 557 series and Justin Winteroth rolled a 546 for coach Jon Miquelon’s squad.
