Dist. 220 honors teachers for national certification

Three Barrington Unit School District 220 teachers who recently received a national teaching certification were recognized for their accomplishments by the district’s board of education this week.

Cristi Barry, of North Barrington Elementary; Jennifer Conant, of Hough Street Elementary; and Colleen Zenner, of Barrington High School, earned National Board Certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Barry called the certification process “one of the hardest things I’ve done.” Zenner said being certified has allowed her to “attain a much higher level of excellence that I carry with me every time I walk into my classroom.”

The three join more than 100,000 current National Board Certified educators across the country.
