An Elgin man has been charged home invasion and striking a teen resident of the home, officials said.

Victor M. Vega, 21, whose address was not provided by Elgin police, is accused of entering the home on the 1300 block of Concord Drive, Elgin, on Jan. 4 and beating a 17-year-old resident in the face and head, police said.

The victim was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, officials added.

Vega, who was arrested Jan. 14, is scheduled to appear in Cook County bond on Friday morning.
