Jon Heder's in town screening 'Napoleon Dynamite'

Ÿ Cult star Jon Heder drops by the suburbs this weekend to introduce showings of his movie “Napoleon Dynamite,” for which he was reportedly paid a paltry $1,000. He'll be at the Hollywood Blvd. Cinema in Woodridge Friday, Jan. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 19. He'll be at Hollywood Palms in Naperville on Saturday, Jan. 18. Ÿ “Life Itself,” Steve James' new documentary on the life of late Chicago film critic Roger Ebert, premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, Jan. 19. Go to sundance.org/festival. Ÿ So my wife, Peggy, walked into the Illinois Secretary of State's office in Schaumburg last week to renew her driver's license. An official looked at her license and asked, “Do you know a Dann Gire?”

“Yes,” she replied. “He's my husband.” The man said, “Well, don't blame me!”
