Group plans meeting about progressive income tax

Americans for Prosperity will host a town-hall meeting in Grayslake on Thursday in an effort to raise grass-roots opposition to the idea of a progressive income tax in Illinois. It’ll run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Grayslake village hall’s community room, 10 S. Seymour Ave. Featured in the session will be Republican state Rep. David McSweeney of Barrington, local business owners and Americans for Prosperity staffers. AFP said the organization is trying to prevent the income tax burden from increasing for Illinois families.
