Alliant Credit Union employees donate food to local pantry

Alliant Credit Union, headquartered at Touhy Avenue and Wolf Road near O’Hare International Airport, recently conducted its annual employee Holiday Food Drive to benefit Northwest suburban Chicago residents who need assistance.

Coordinated by Alliant’s Civic Affairs Committee, the charity drive collected hundreds of nonperishable food and household items that were donated to the Maine Township Community Food Pantry. These were distributed to people living in Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Niles, Glenview, Morton Grove and Rosemont.

In addition, Alliant Credit Union Foundation provided a grant to help the food pantry purchase goods for those in need.

After receiving Alliant donations, food pantry coordinator Carol Langan said, “These contributions are extremely helpful to our holiday assistance efforts and greatly appreciated by local people in need. We’re thankful and delighted about the quantity and quality of the donations made by Alliant employees.”

Alliant President and Chief Executive Officer David Mooney said, “We’re dedicated to serving local communities and worthwhile charities, and very proud of our employees for contributing so generously to this cause. With many people still affected by difficult economic times, it’s extremely important to provide assistance, especially during the holiday season.”

Alliant Credit Union, founded in 1935, serves more than 140 employee groups, along with people who live or work in various suburban Chicago communities.
