Seniors invited to join walks through Kane County forest preserves

Submitted by Forest Preserve District of Kane County

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County invites area seniors to join us for the monthly “Senior Stroll” program on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Each month, district naturalists lead a leisurely walk through a Kane County Forest Preserve, and share ecology highlights along the way.

During winter months, the “Strolls” move indoors for presentation-style programs, with short walks following the programs, weather permitting.

In February, the program is all about Cupid, courtship and valentines. Join in the special program on courtship behavior in nature from the Prairie Chicken booming grounds to the battle of the bucks.

“Senior Stroll: Love Me Do!” will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Creek Bend Nature Center, within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.

All seniors are welcome. Registration is not required for “Senior Stroll.”
