No pregnant pause for ‘Archer’ star Tyler

LOS ANGELES — Aisha Tyler is a jack of many trades: actress, author, game-show host, talk-show panelist, podcast proprietor.

And the “Archer” leading lady says she wants to “add more jobs to that list.”

The series finally had its season-five debut Monday night. That’s a full year after the season-four finale. The FX ’toon spins around secret agents working for a grossly mismanaged independent intelligence service.

The new “Archer” season is something of a reboot of the show, now also dubbed “Archer Vice,” with the service in such a financial mess that the team is forced to turn to crime. Complicating things: Tyler’s character, Lana Kane, is now pregnant.

“Archer” airs at 9 p.m. Mondays on FX. The network will repeat the series premiere episode, “White Elephant,” at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.
