Carmel Catholic High School names interim president

Carmel Catholic High School officials have named Sister Mary Frances McLaughlin as the Mundelein school’s interim president.

McLaughlin had held the post from 1996 to 2006. She rejoins the school Wednesday.

McLaughlin replaces Judith Mucheck, who resigned unexpectedly and without public explanation earlier this month.

Mucheck had the job for more than seven years. Efforts by the Daily Herald to reach Mucheck after her resignation were unsuccessful.

In a news release issued Monday, Carmel board Chairman Ted Bond said officials are pleased McLaughlin is filling in.

“Her willingness to do so enables us to engage in a thorough search process for Carmel Catholic High School’s next president,” Bond said.
