Columnist's ego too big for print?

While reading Jim Slusher's column on Dec. 26 about his love of reading, I was struck by his frequent use of "I," "I'm" or "I'll" (36 times) and "my" (six times).

Could a reader draw any conclusions from this? Does the word "ego" or its derivatives come to mind?
