Fox Lake pot, gun arrest:

An Ingleside man was arrested on pot and weapons charges in Fox Lake, authorities said. Daniel Castillo, 20, of the 35000 block of N. Watson Avenue, is charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon following his Jan. 8 arrest, authorities said. Castillo was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police for not having a front license plate when the officer noticed a strong smell of cannabis, authorities said. After calling for K9 unit from McHenry to search the vehicle, a backpack carrying 225 grams of marijuana, a Taurus .380 caliber pistol and about $1,500 in cash was confiscated by police, officials said. Castillo was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bail. His next court date is unknown.
