NCH Day Surgery Center Forms Collaborative Partnership with Physicians

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (January 9, 2014) – The Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) Day Surgery Center has entered into a joint venture partnership with local physicians that will provide patients with a personal and convenient alternative to high-quality outpatient surgery without leaving the NCH campus in Arlington Heights.

The new venture, Northwest Community Day Surgery Center II, LLC, became effective Jan. 1 with more than 30 physician investors in a state-of-the-art facility on the east side of the NCH campus. As part of the NCH vision for creating a full system of care, the surgery center, one of the largest facilities in the state, provides an option for community members who are seeking high-quality, accessibility, experience and low cost.

While connected to the hospital and a full team of specialists, the Day Surgery Center helps reduce anxiety associated with surgery by making the outpatient experience personal, convenient and efficient without compromising quality. Specializing in ambulatory care, the staff focuses on the complete patient experience, from scheduling procedures to pre- and post-surgery appointments.

With more than 7,000 surgical procedures performed annually at the day surgery center, patients, primary care physicians and specialists can benefit from updated facilities, convenience of scheduling and a cost-effective alternative for outpatient surgery in an accountable care environment. The multi-specialty facility features 10 surgical suites and is staffed by NCH Magnet-certified nurses who are recognized for providing the very best in patient care and patient satisfaction.

“This joint venture partnership at NCH creates another high-quality care option in a more cost effective manner,” NCH Chief Nursing Officer Kim Nagy said. “Patients will benefit from lower costs in an accountable care setting that is right next door to the hospital.”
