Police Chief David Dorn said Taylor was employed as a massage therapist at Body and Sol Salon, 836 S. Northwest Highway. He said the assault took place about 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 3 during a massage appointment with a female client.

Taylor was taken to the Cook County criminal courts building in Chicago last weekend, and his bail was set at $100,000. He is due in court Jan. 28.

The salon's owner, 58-year-old Jane K. Hayes of Palatine, was charged with local ordinance violations for operating a massage establishment without a license, reckless conduct, unlawful acts and maintaining a public nuisance, according to police.

The salon has been in business for nine years.
