New trustee seated in Deer Park

Mark Van Ryne, a 7-year resident of Deer Park, has been appointed to fill a vacant seat on the village board through April 30, 2015. In nominating him, Village President Robert Kellermann cited Van Ryne’s extensive finance and marketing background and his involvement in community services, adding the new trustee would be a great asset to the village and has much to offer in the area of economic development planning. The board voted unanimously to appoint Van Ryne, who said the village board has made positive changes, particularly with regard to police service. He has been assigned to assist the village finance department and economic development. Van Ryne fills the seat formerly held by Trustee Jim Denny, who resigned in June.
