Libertyville Sunrise Rotary hosts annual fundraiser

The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary will host its annual winter fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Midlane resort, 4555 W. Yorkhouse Road, Wadsworth. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

The theme of this year’s fundraiser is “Going for the Gold.” There will be more than 100 silent and live auction items, including a Door County weekend, an instant wine cellar, and golf packages to local courses. Entertainment will be provided by the Peter Henna Orchestra.

The club distributes the proceeds from its fundraisers each spring at their annual giving dinner. At the 2013 dinner 38 local charities were honored and received $80,000 in funds.

In the club’s 26-year history they have donated $1 million to local and international charities, including literacy and scholarship programs; programs to combat hunger, homelessness and domestic violence; the eradication of polio; and many more.

Tickets are $100. For more information, contact chairman Doug Fendon at DFendon@mspremium.com or (513) 289-3244.

The club’s 50-plus members are always accepting new members and welcome anyone wishing to find out more about the club to attend one of the weekly meetings. The club is a member of Rotary International, a humanitarian service organization.

Libertyville Sunrise Rotary meets at 7 a.m. Wednesdays at Lambs Farm on Route 176 in Green Oaks. Visit www.libertyvillesunriserotary.com.
