Oakton offers online women’s history course

Oakton Community College will offer an online course starting this month examining the roles and accomplishments of women from prehistory to the present day through art, film, music, and literature.

The 16-week Women in Western Civilization begins Jan. 21. Emphasis will be placed on women’s status, historical legacies, roles in the early modern household, public and private life, and war. Women in Western Civilization fulfills an elective requirement and may be used toward Oakton’s Women’s and Gender Studies concentration.
