A cabaret night fundraiser for COVE Alliance, a volunteer group that helps orphaned and disadvantaged children in Uganda, Africa, is set for Saturday, Jan. 11, at St. Mary of Vernon Parish Center, 236 Route 45, Indian Creek. An evening of cabaret and confections will feature entertainment by professional singers and musicians. A complimentary coffee and dessert bar offering cakes, pies and treats from local bakeries will be available, and visitors can shop the African store. Admission is $30 for individuals and $50 per couple. Register at www.covealliance.org. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7 p.m.
