Smart Farm's 4th Annual 5k Frozen Zucchini Snowshoe Adventure

Smart Farm of Barrington will hold its 4th Annual 5k Frozen Zucchini Adventure on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Jewel Tea Pavilion in Citizens Park, Barrington. The Frozen Zucchini is a sanctioned and certified 5k snowshoe race. Fun children's activities will take place during the race. Lots of prizes and great goodie bags are provided to all registered participants. This event is a great way to enjoy some outdoor winter activity. No experience necessary and snowshoe rental is available. Register at www.smartfarms.org. If there is not enough snow, the Frozen Zucchini will be a running race. Smart Farm of Barrington in a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide educational opportunities to encourage sustainable gardening and to raise and donate fresh produce for area food pantries. During the 2013 growing season, Smart Farm donated nearly 6,700 pounds of fresh vegetables raised by 150 dedicated volunteers.
